misleading platter pricing @ Wildfire

If the menu reads like this:


Wildfire Assiette $18 per person
six intense miniature desserts (minimum 2 persons)


and you order "for two", how many mini desserts do you think you get?
If you guessed twelve, you're wrong. 
Which is a pity, really.
Why not just price the plate at $36 and less patrons less ripped-off when they see the bill?

I am sure that last description did not do that dessert justice. Nor did its pricing method.

Spoon service and Kanetani tribute @ Pier

We heard Katrina Kanetani (of MasterChef fame) was leaving Pier so we rushed to get a table. Turns out she wasn't leaving for a while but oh well... no harm done.



 


How much cutlery does it take to eat a dessert? And what is that pointy thing on the right?

Unpretentious and delicious gelato @ Glace

I have decided that I will no longer 'review' food for a number of reasons. The first being that I am not qualified, and the second being that I do not want to destroy my eating experiences with the arduous hassle of taking notes and agonizing over wording and comparison.



I like images, they are usually less devious (at least with my very average point and shoot digital camera!)


In a Sartorialist-inspired direction, I will strive to just post photos and descriptions. No commentary. Well, maybe a little...
